OneNote Notebooks can be seamlessly integrated into the DeskDirector Portal. This article will explain how it works and and how to set it up.

What is OneNote Notebook?

Microsoft OneNote is digital note-taking app for free-form information gathering and multi-user collaboration. Essentially, it is a digital notebook on steroids, available anytime, anywhere. It gathers users' notes, drawings, screen clippings, and audio commentaries. You can learn more about OneNote Notebook here.

Notes can be shared with other OneNote users over the Internet or a network. OneNote is available as part of the Microsoft Office Suite, it is also available as a free, standalone app via the app stores of Windows 10, macOS, iOS and Android. Microsoft also provides a web-based version of OneNote as part of OneDrive and Office for the web; this version enables users to edit notes in a web browser.

Publishing OneNote Notebooks in DeskDirector

You can manage/create Notebooks in DeskDirector from the admin console then head to Portal > Notebooks. You should see a list of your current Notebooks showing the last time they were updated (if you have created one), and an option to 'Create'.

The video above shows the exact step-by-step process in creating a Notebook, publishing, then using the Notebook as a menu item.

Please note, every time a notebook has been created or updated, you need to manually trigger publish before the portal can view the content or latest update.
