Sign in with Microsoft Issue in Tech or Admin Console - "Need Admin Approval"

When trying to login Tech and Admin Console, this error may show up

This happens because the "User can register application" permission is disabled in Azure Active Directory (AAD) due to corporate policies.

Solution

You will need to request an administrator to grant you permission to the application (DeskDirector).

The administrator can follow these steps:

  1. Click the following link and sign in with an AAD administrator account:

https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/adminconsent?client_id=d27c2c00-aa5e-49a8-8277-bfbd8bf975e1&redirect_uri=https://deskdirector.com

  1. In the dialog box that appears, click Accept. If consent succeeds, you will be redirected to DeskDirector's website.

This link gives consent for all users in the directory to use the login with Microsoft method for Tech and Admin Console.
