OneNote Notebook Integration Overview

OneNote Notebooks can be seamlessly integrated into the DeskDirector Portal. This article will explain how it works and how to set it up.

What is a OneNote Notebook?

OneNote is a digital note-taking app that provides a single place for keeping all of your notes, research, plans, and information - everything you need to remember and manage in your life at home, at work, or at school. You can learn more about OneNote Notebook here.

OneNote is available as part of the Microsoft Office Suite, and it is also available as a free, standalone app via the app stores of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Microsoft also provides a web-based version of OneNote as part of OneDrive and Office for the web; this version enables users to edit notes in a web browser.\

Creating a OneNote Notebook

  1. Head to the Admin Portal and open the Client Portal > Notebooks tab
  2. Select Create:
  3. Give your Notebook a name and click Save:
  4. Open your Notebook and follow the steps in the UI to publish your Notebook:

Please note that every time a notebook has been created or updated, you need to manually trigger publish before the portal can view the content or the latest update.
  1. Open the Admin Portal and head to Client Portal > Menu System > Menu Items
  2. Select New Menu Item
  3. Give your item a name and an icon
  4. Select the Type of Menu Item drop-down, and change it to OneNote notebook Menu
  5. Choose your notebook via the dynamic picker
  6. Click Save
