How to enable software rendering

OUTDATED ARTICLE, THIS REFERS TO THE OLD CLIENT CONSOLE AND NOT DDPORTAL

DeskDirector uses a Microsoft.net technology called WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) for the display of its User Interface.

In some rare cases the application will not display correctly. This is usually caused by a display driver, DirectX or Microsoft.net issue and while re-installing later versions of all of these may solve the problem we have included a switch in the application to disable Hardware Rendering which should solve the problem.

Follow the instructions below to turn of Hardware Rendering

1. Right click the DeskDirector tray icon and select settings

Right click the DeskDirector tray icon and select settings

2. Disable Hardware Acceleration

Disable Hardware Acceleration
  1. Untick the Use Hardware Acceleration check box
  2. Click Save Changes

3. Restart DeskDirector

Restart DeskDirector
  1. Right click the tray icon and select Exit
  2. Start DeskDirector again using the Desktop or Start Menu shortcut

DeskDirector will now be running using Software rendering and the display problem should be resolved.
